To continue to obtain positions for you, we need to keep our clients happy. You can help by taking extra care to follow instructions and be courteous. We expect a good work ethic and a good day's work all day, every day. Keep in mind that the better the impression you leave at one assignment, the better chance you will have to be trusted with another; possibly a better one.

Assignments: When we find a position for you, we will explain where it is located and what is required. You may then accept or turn down the position. Please do not accept a position unless you are 100% committed to it and have the necessary transportation, clothing, childcare, and can find the job site. Allow extra travel time the first time you report to a new job site.

Dress Code: We will discuss the dress code for each position with you. Please make sure you are dressed according to what the job requires. For example, it may state that no jewelry or sandals are allowed. Proper dress for each clerical position will be discussed; light industrial positions usually require a plain T-shirt and jeans. You may need to wear safety glasses, ear plugs, hair nets or steel-toed safety shoes, depending on the particular job.

Call-Off Procedures: Call us immediately if you will be unable to report for work. You can reach us 24/7 at (717) 718-HIRE (4473).  Leave a clear, unhurried message including your name, a phone number where we can reach you, and the company and shift you were to work. You must notify us at least 4 hours prior to your scheduled reporting time. After hours, simply leave a message on our voice mail. The important thing is to call as soon as you can.

Pay Day: Thursdays are pay day for Staffing Specialists of York employees. Your paycheck will be available from 8:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. If you are unable to pick up your check, we will mail it to you; we do not hold checks. You may have someone else pick up your check with a note or a phone call from you. For your protection, that person will need identification.

Eligibility for work: You will be eligible for work as long as you:

• Report to the job on time
• Comply with safety procedures
• Give 4-hours notice for a call-off
• Obey the dress code
• Comply with physical requirements
• DO A GOOD JOB!

If you engage in any of the following behaviors, you will not be eligible for work:

• No call/no show to an assignment
• Walking off the job
• Excessive call-offs
• Inappropriate behavior
• The use of alcohol or drugs at work
• Not complying with employment requirements
